Day 1: Coffee, Brunch, and Dessert Bliss
- OSOM Coffee: We kicked off our day with a visit to OSOM Coffee, and it was indeed awesome! We enjoyed banana bread and pancakes, paired with two cappuccinos. A perfect startgg!
- Frutas Prohibidas Bar: After a leisurely walk through the charming streets of La Latina, we headed to Frutas Prohibidas Bar for a late brunch. This 100% vegan spot had a stylish and lovely atmosphere. We tried the Eggs Benedict, an omelet in a brioche bun, Caesar salad, and two iced coffees. The “eggs” were incredibly convincing, leaving us speechless with their realistic taste and texture.
- Freedom Cake: As the sun set, we indulged in dessert at Freedom Cake, savoring two glasses of white wine and a delicious cheesecake. It was the perfect end to our first day in Madrid.
Day 2: Classic Performances and Comfort Food
- Distrito Vegano: Our second day started at Distrito Vegano, where we devoured a croissant filled with crème anglaise and “salmon” toast. The creaminess and flavor were astonishingly good.
- Thunder: After watching the classic ballet Swan Lake, we treated ourselves to dinner at Thunder, a classic diner with hearty, comforting food. We had two burgers and way too many potatoes—just the way we like it!
Day 3: Middle Eastern Fare and Farewell
- Barganzo Restaurant: Our final day in Madrid was highlighted by a meal at Barganzo, an Israeli kitchen under the direction of the lovely Chef Aviv. We enjoyed a refreshing vegetable salad, a hummus plate, and perfectly fried cauliflower. The flavors were fresh and vibrant, a fitting end to our culinary journey.
Madrid’s stunning architecture and surprisingly delicious vegan food made our visit unforgettable. If you’re worried about finding vegan options here, don’t be—Madrid has plenty to offer!
Happy eating and exploring! 🌱✨
